Right now, I’m imagining the scene when we climbed the Mt. Everest. We camped out in the middle of the mountain and we cooked soup. After eating dinner, I searched on the map the way to the peak. While we were discussing, my team had a debate on which route to take. One suggested to take the fastest route but in a rough way. On the other hand, another member urged to take the safe way for normal routine. I had to decide which way would be better for our team. Finally, I decided to take the fastest way to the top so we began climbing again the next morning. It took us 8 hours to reach the top. When we got there, we just shouted on top of our lungs to the opposite mountain and we could catch the echo. We were so happy to achieve our goal.
Dong gyun,
I’m kind of confused in the last paragraph. I assumed that you were able to climb the Mt. Everest so the tense of the verb that I used is in the past. But in your first paragraph, you were hoping to be given a chance to climb Mt. Everest so that made me confused. Please clear it out to me during the class.
I changed some expressions to be more accurate in the sentence.
For example,
Top of the mountain – peak of the mountain
Way – route
Get over – overcome
Restart climbing – began climbing again
Have a nice day! Good job!
