* Professional athletes deserve a high
salary.
There is some debate as to whether professional
athletes have to take a high salary. Some people might say that it is not fair because
they are taking more money than other professions. However, in my opinion, they
are quite right to deserve a high salary because of the following reasons.
Firstly, there are many people who want to be professional
athletes; however, only few people who are outstanding could be a pro. In other
words; if you are not singled-out in your field, you are less likely to be a
pro and more likely to have difficulty to afford yourself. Moreover, it has
several risks to take. For example, they might be wounded while they are
training or might have bad condition in advance of important competition. Because of this, many economists mentioned
that athletes have relatively fewer chance to be successful than other
professions.
Secondly, they can take their high salary only few years in their life-time.
That means they should earn money in their ages of 20s to 30s for their whole
life-time. They have their finest condition in that moment and usually are not able
to have their best performance in their old age. Thus, even though their salary
looks very high, it is not enough because they have limited time to earn money compared
to ordinary workers. .
In
summary, I think professional athletes have to earn a high salary not only
because they have very limited time to earn money but also because they are
relatively less likely to be successful than other professions.
