The entire recreational camp is composed of two main parts divided by the river. On southern part, there are various institutions along the way. Among them, you can encounter “welcome center” at first, following “education”, “diagnosis & intervention”, and so on. The purpose of most buildings seems correlated one another which are “human welfare”. However, if you go across the river, there are “library”, “advocacy& law”, “childcare” etc. They to some extent are connected with children’s program. In conclusion, you had better go to upper side of the river when you put more value on children or if not, you are recommended to go downside of the river.

I already checked your writing. However, I think the instructions are not exactly given. In the activity, we are supposed to give some instructions and directions on how Steve's family can reach the Recreation and Camps from the starting point.
I suggest you to use some directional expressions such as the following:
- go straight to this street
- turn right/ turn left
- cross the bridge
- in front of / beside / across..
You can also give some approximations such as:
- it's approximately 250 meters from this point
- it might take around 20 minutes to reach that area
