Q. Sports encourage competition rather than cooperation. Therefore, sports should not be encouraged at school. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

 

Opinions are generally divided on the issue whether sports encourage competition or cooperation. From my personal experiences and objective factors, in many cases, sports definitely affect positively to students. This is because through spots, students can cooperate with team and learn competition with good faith. Therefore sports should be highly encouraged at school.

 

           First, most sport games, done at school, are mainly required to have group members such as soccer or baseball. Through those sports, students can have more chances to experience healthy competition with other team and have sportsmanship. This is largely because in team play games, cooperation among members is highly emphasized when they are on the ground.

 

           Second, appropriate competition can be a key driver for students to improve themselves in many ways. It can motivate students to work more hard and move forward to their future goals. As for the competition in sports, this physical competition can provide students with the power to endure stress from psychological competition by getting used to it.

 

           To sum up, there exist positive effects of competition in sports game such as making students cooperated and giving them sportsmanship. Also competition itself should not be blame to be away from school, because it can help students in certain ways
