Prof.Joo said American education can't be explaned without 'standard' and 'accountability'.
'No Child Left Behind' that has been began since 1992 is the policy reflected these.
The World Newspaper reserved comment as ‘No Child Left Behind legislation was well intentioned, but its emphasis on testing has had unintended consequence'.
I think this policy makes the students' intellectual standard lower and doesn't be considered high mental that can be grown if they have any chance.
I'd like to know how we can combine or control 'accountability' and 'excellence'.
I've seen the books or papers that referred to the matter as if it were different meaning totally. So, do we say American education bring to focus exclusively school responsibility rather than various talents students have? It seems that there is no proper principle in American education.
Oh hi Shelly.
Hmm.. Regarding with that, I think the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) policy could reduce the student learning and may cause a lower standard of education.
Yes you're right. There is no proper principle in American education. And for me, they need to have a bigger and more advanced school complexes. In addition to that, rapport is very important between the students and teachers to create a unique teaching environment. NCLB is a big no no for me. The talent and excellent qualities of the student must be seen not only at school but in the whole world. We don't need to be unfair in implementing our education. It is our right to learn and let's fight for what we know is right, Shelly. ^^
